This airport is located just four kilometers from downtown of Tivat city, and that is a reason why it is named Tivat Airport. Actually, it is located in the area more famous as Tivat field, between crossroad Tivat - Kotor - Budva – Lustica Peninsula and Tivat city center. Although often referred to as the second Montenegrin airport, Tivat Airport serves more passengers on an annual basis than the airport in Podgorica. In 2018, a total of 1,250,000 passengers used the services of this airport. International IATA code is TIV. The airport serves passengers whose destination is the Montenegrin coast, Tivat, Kotor, Budva, Herceg Novi, Petrovac, Bar and also a large number of passengers who travel to Dubrovnik - Croatia.
It is mostly a seasonal airport, which transports most of its passengers from the beginning of May to the beginning of October. Also, this is the duration of the tourist season in Montenegro.
